i’m sitting in class right now, basically not paying any attention and watching the election results, so i figured i’d pop you guys with something. ok, so i was gonna try and post some stuff tonight about the tirp to new orleans, but… well that’s not gonna happen tonight, so instead i give you this.

unfortunately, i know that not everybody is cool enough (or enough of a dork really) to recognize this as bruce campbell in the roll of ash from evil dead, evil dead 2 and army of darkness. the costume was put together mostly from memory, since i didnt have any pictures handy when i did most of it. the gun was absolute last minute (as in walking out the door), but the rest took some work. i tore up the clothes and sacrificed 4 leather belts to make the harness. the chainsaw in particular was pretty cool tho. it wasnt really dirty enough either. i took it into the back yard right before we headed downtown on tuesday and tried to grind it into the dirt with my feet, but nothing was sticking. bah! i shall improve next year.
danielle made the al foil saw teeth for me. under duress.
i wasnt done with it in time for the saturday night excursion to the french quarter and the gay bachelor party we went to, so case provided a full body ET costume that was purchased from a costume shop that went out of business earlier this year i think. he spent the evening running around in a gorilla suit carrying a sign that said “who dat?” for all of us out of towners, that’s a reference to the song they play at saints games that says, “who dat sayin’ dey gonna beat dem saints? who dat? who dat?”
when i wore this guy out on tuesday tho, it was amazing how many people recognized me. i got a whole bunch of “this is my BOOMSTICK!” and “YA GOT THAT?” and “SHOP SMART! SHOP… S-MART!”. some ppl got pretty excited about it and eventually i got into the roll a little bit.
ok, back to class. until tomorrow.
