happy birthday dad!

big glenn miller, the biggest man i’ve ever known.  u realize of course, it may be a cliche, but case and i really do want to grow up to be just like you.  the perfect compliment to the strongest woman i’ve ever known as well.  you guys really are the best parents i know of, and a romantic ideal i have of a pair.  especially when i see the old pics of you guys before we were born, and later in alaska in your green wool jackets.  tall and strong =)

this is where that picture would go, if i had it.  writing from work…

my only complaint?  i wish you could have taught me how to work on cars =D

we talked about spinal fusion and cervical disk prosthetics last night in class, dad.  i’m still working on it for you.

your present is in the mail.  to me anyways.  it may be a while before it shows up in silver city ;)

this lady…

is having surgery this morning

big… guns…

she’s the only one left in our little plutonic group that hasnt had to go under anethesia at least once.  hopefully she’s not like case and doesn’t punch out the attendant when she wakes up.

leaves me to ponder this question…

i hear on the radio that now that tom delay isn’t going to run for reelection this year, he can use his campaign warchest for legal fees.  several people have said that on mutliple sources that i paruse, including NPR, so i assume that it’s true.  can anybody tell me why that is?  i’m not slinging any shit here, i’m genuinely curious.  for some reason i would have assumed (falsely) that any funds raised by a politician for campaign financing would have been made out to the campaign and not the individual.  can they be spontaneously transfered to a legal defense fund without any kind of penalty?

good luck mom!  i’m sure you’re wondering that too.  of course u prolly already know the answer.

punx not dead

and neither am i.  not yet anyways

between being sick, playing games, and doing homework (barely) i just havent gotten around to reporting on my life to the world (wide web).  today i finally begin with the life hack schedule i posted a while back.

to answer george, i decided remove the scheduled marital duties from the public released version.

meanwhile, here’s something to tide over those of u who played nintendo as kids.

20 years of NES

u can kick it back to intro too to see the 10 ten games from other systems as well.  there are a few of u i have in mind for this one…

OMFG OMFG OMFG XOX o_0 ^_^

this saturday was a day of total laziness. we slept in, went to breakfast and then went to the seattle science fiction film festival. 20 films in 4 hours. afterwards, jay decided he was gonna reconsidering going film school. when i asked if he had anything in mind he wanted to make, he said, “nah, not really, but if some of that stuff can get selected for this kind of thing, i have a chance.”

this is an inside joke

but i dont want to talk about that.

and yet… somehow, we hadnt had enough. so after sitting on our asses for 4 hours watching mediocre sci-fi shorts, jay and i humped it down town a bit further, met matt at the meridian and went to see underworld evolution. basically that meant that for the next two hours, kate beckinsale was the hottest woman in the world with her short black hair, in her black pleather jumpsuit and corset and armed with her dual weild automatic weapons.

rrrrrrrrrowr!

but i dont want to talk about that.

of course, before the movie, there were some previews. three previews in particular. oops, four rather. apparently i have a couple of reasons to live for the next few months. 1st off, they showed a preview for mission impossible III. yes i know it’s tom cruise, but the 1st two were pretty good, so i’ll give it a chance. next we had V for Vendetta which is another in a series of movies based on DC comic books. an added bonus is natalie portman. this, i too shall be seeing. 3rd would be ultraviolet which i will be seeing for 1 reason, just one single reason, and her name is milla jovovich. the hottest woman in the world with her black hair, in her black pleather jumpsuit and armed with her dual weild automatic weapons. wait… how many times am i allowed to use this joke anyways?

rrrrrrrrrowr-rrrrrrrrrowr!

but i dont want to talk about that.

no, i want to talk about the final preview: the preview for silent hill.

this is based on a series of games originally for the playstation. in fact, i posted about SH2 way back in january of 2005 when i played it while i was laid up after knee surgery. simply put it is the best video game ever made. ever. at least as far as i’m concerned. right from the moment they started to play the music with the trailer i knew what it was for and judging from the clips, they’ve incorporated all of the trademark imagery and symbology that marked that game (even if the storyline isnt the same). oh, and the chick that played fry in pitch black is the lead actress. needless to say, i’m going all fangirl over it (hence the title of this post). i know that video game movies dont always work, but since this one isnt going to be directed by uwe bolle, i feel there’s hope.  after all, resident evil is one of my all time favorite movies. and yes, milla jovovich is in it.  i’ll be dragging mr. AP2 with me, since he’s the only other person i know who’s played the game (despite the fact that i’ve given away 2 copies to ppl).

too much nerd speak this time? sorry…

ok, so that’s not entirely true.  last week matt and i sanded the drywall mud in the basement room where he will eventually be residing.  this saturday, between breakfast and the movies, we primed downstairs.  it took oh, i dunno… 20 minutes with 4 ppl?  hard work.

i call this one “cocaine factory”

but enough of this mundane crap! car post friday…. or saturday.

lifehack v 0.1

the challenger blew up my birthday in 1986. i always wanted to be an astronaut as a kid, and when i told ppl that the challenger blew up on my birthday, the usual response was that i would someday die in a fiery explosion.

RIP Christa McAuliffe

i have yet to go down in a blaze of glory. despite my best efforts, i continue to simply plummit in a very unglorified way. dammit!

hopefully, however, i can keep this blog from going down in a blaze of glory as well. i write all sorts of thoughts down here at work and then email them to myself at home, but never get around to posting them. dammit. part of the problem is, when i’m at home, if i’m in front of the computer, it is impossible for me to do anything except play WoW. homework, blogging and biznaz get put aside for world of azeroth. this… this could get complicated.

recycling this one. also apparently, this is the img danielle sent out in the evite for my surprize 30th bday party

my time management sucks. this class this quarter has a ridiculous amount of work associated with it. 15-20hrs of reading and writing a week for a single class. plus the overtime i’m obligated to work at the moment. then of course, there’s the slush race season going on (more on that later), and of course the continuing house renovations. oh and let’s not forget my pledge to go to the gym regularly. hmmmmm… where in the hell am i supposed to fit all this in?

well, with that in mind, i have created the following. this is my first attempt EVER to actually do a daily schedule. keep in mind that these are only valid during the week. so far, i’ve come up with 5 options.

overambitious? prolly…

each one has it’s benefits and trade offs. one big problem is trying to work it so that danielle and i can continue to semi-carpool to work. the other big problem is figuring out what i’m going to do during lunch (gym, blog, or HW) because i know that when i get home, none of those are gonna be nearly as attractive and, let’s be honest, i’ll prolly get pulled into WoW anyways. these two big problems smack head on, since i cant really stay at work too much later to do personal stuff in the evenings because that kinda strands danielle at work or religates her to a noxious bus ride. we’ll have to see if i can implement this next week. this week is shot already.

some of you will prolly be happy to notice that there is time set aside for blogging EVERY DAY! W00T!…. W00T-W00T!!

i also never made a birthday shout to my brother on the 26th or to simon on the 30th. so happy birthday ya bastiches! ; )
